History

NLC was formed in 1998 by Doug Beehler, Tom Mittelstadt and Jeff Duma. The three had worked together for many years at LaserMaster/ColorSpan, a manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers. Their goal was to become a full service VAR concentrating mainly on the wide-format digital printing market.

At this time, wide-format digital printing was relatively new. Many customers and suppliers were struggling to make the conversion to digital. By taking what they had learned during their years at Colorspan, they were able to help customers with this transition from traditional sign making or cut vinyl to digital.

Initially, NLC concentrated specifically on the ColorSpan line of printers, but quickly grew the product offering to include many other industry leading manufacturers in the wide-format arena such as HP, Mimaki, Seiko, Canon and Epson.

Since our first modest facility (Tom’s basement) with 3 employees, North Light Color has grown to over forty employees and offices in New Hope, MN, Elk Grove Village, IL and Austell GA.

We continue to work hard to provide our customers with the products and support they need from a wide range of industry leading manufacturers. Our goal is to be your dealer of choice when looking for anything related to wide format digital printing.
