GF 767 Sparkle Holographic is a 6.0 mil holographic film coated with a permanent acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive on a 90# layflat liner. The 90# liner provides excellent dimensional stability for digital printing. Does the film have any shim lines like I see on other holographic materials?

Yes, the 60” wide rolls have a very faint shim line him line at 30” in machine direction (center of the roll), and a lighter repeating line every 12” running across the width of the roll.

Why are there lines on the material?

In order to get the holographic look on the film, it needs to go through an embossing step. This is typically done using a round cylinder, and the line–called a ‘shim line’–is the place where the embossing plate joins and leaves a visible line on the material.

What are some recommended uses for GF Sparkle?

This Sparkle Holographic film is great for printing stickers and decals, whether for use in packaging, marketing, or whatever you can dream up!

My cutter’s optical sensor is having trouble finding the registration marks, is there anything I can do?

The surface of 767 Sparkle is very reflective. There are a few general techniques you can try to reduce the reflection. Overlay a piece of clear matte laminate over top of all registration marks to allow the optical sensor to see the marks. You may also try placing white vinyl around the registration mark or cutting out white pieces of vinyl. To do this, cut the white vinyl and leave the center open for either the “L” registration mark or “O” (circular) registration mark.
